Describe, in your own words

10.22.2010 First impressions of the iPad UX

Everyone’s right—it’s not just a big iPhone. Here’s a list of things that are noticeably different about the iPad, in comparison to my experiences using an iPhone 4.

Oh, and this is not meant to be anything profound, it’s just a list.

  • I can see individual pixels. The iPhone feels much sharper.
  • In my lap, on the couch, it feels like a device for video chatting, yet there is no camera.
  • The screen is constantly flipping and flopping in response to even the slightest movement.
  • My fingers don’t get in the way nearly as much.
  • I can’t do two things at once (i.e., I miss multitasking).
  • There’s no Facebook app! How is that possible!
